She is currently a professor of Applied Economics at the University of La Laguna and of Financial Economics and Accounting at Iriarte Cetro Universitario.

Her lines of research focus on employment, training, gender, entrepreneurship and regional development. She is a member of the Research Group “Tourism, competitiveness and sustainability” and collaborates in the Chair of Social and Cooperative Economy (CESCO) at the University of La Laguna.
